Usman Aliyu is an Editor/Assistant Chief Correspondent with the News Agency of Nigeria with 15 years of experience in journalism. Usman is a cohort of the maiden MFWA-DPI Journalism Fellowship in 2023. Before then, he was a cohort of the 2022 Solutions Journalism Africa Initiative Fellowship, and 2023 CfA-ICFJ Religious Extremism Investigation Fellowship among others, as well as recipients of several reporting grant projects. Internationally, he reported at the 2022 World Forestry Congress, COP27 in Egypt in 2022, COP28 in Dubai in 2023 and the French President’s visit to Morocco in 2024.
